Steve Jenkins has written
and illustrated nearly twenty picture books for young readers,
including the Caldecott Honor–winning What
Do You Do with a Tail Like This? His books have been called
stunning, eye-popping, inventive, gorgeous, masterful, extraordinary,
playful, irresistible, compelling, engaging, accessible, glorious, and
informative. He went to art school in North Carolina and studied
graphic design. After graduation he moved to New York City, where he
worked in advertising and design, first in large firms and then with
his wife, Robin Page, in their own small design firm. He now lives in
Colorado with Robin and their three children. For Steve, making
children’s books represents the happy intersection of children,
science, art, his design partnership with Robin, and his life-long love
of reading. To learn more about Steve and his books, visit
