Looking for a fun way to use your creative or sales skills this summer? Then join the Art and Silent Auction Committee! Members of this committee help organize and stage both the Art Show and the Silent Auction held in conjunction with the conference. As a committee member, you can choose to work with the Art Show, the Silent Auction or both.
All committee members are expected to attend some planning meetings and help set up the events the day of the conference, but we’ll need specific help in these areas:
- Shop for committee supplies
- Assist in printing necessary materials (ballots, certificate, auction inventory sheets, etc.)
- Assist with technical details (Acquiring tables for the auction, etc.)
- Recruit additional volunteers
- Help to create/distribute fliers and forms
- Email communication (distribute information to Hollins students, artists, and donors)
- Assist in creating elements that will tie the exhibit together
- Create pseudonym list for silent auction bidders
- Take inventory of silent auction items, assigning each a starting bid
- Decorate and hang artwork on the night before the conference
- Set up auction items on the morning of the conference
- Run the silent auction cash register/count
